Default Got everything to Deep drop, now what?

I'm in The Bahamas and ready to catch some big boys. 25' Mako tuned-up, reels ready, but I'm new at this. Please give me some advice on venturing into the deep. Did well snapper fishing in the night around S.W. Reef and other locations near Nassau. I teach during the day and have mostly weekends and evenings to enjoy this hobby.

Is there anyone that I could partner with on a deep drop fishing trip to gain some insight. I have equipment but need guidance in developing this type of fishing experience.

Sad to say Mr J, but you'll probably have to find someone local to help you out on technique. Very few guys that I know will be fishing in the Bahamas with the new regulations currently in place. It's so restrictive that it's not worth going over. Granted ... fishing there is excellent, but the amount of fish one can bring back compared to the cost associated with entry fees, fishing permits, lodging etc. just precludes the average fella from going over.
Anyway, welcome to the world of deep dropping and I'm sure you'll do well. It doesn't take long to figure out what works and what doesn't. Good luck mon!

Just try to search for some good bottom from 600ft to 1200ft and drop. Make sure to have a nice size 16/0 circle hook on the bottom next to the lead on your rig with a big bait. Big Mistics around that area.
Keep your GPS tracking on. This way, when you get a hit, all you have to do is go back to where your tracking is marked and set a drift around the same area.
Prefered bait would be Bonito or Cuda.

Good Luck.
