Gosh, Willi. I sorta like the idea of a LNG terminal off Ft Lauderdale. Think of the structure and the fish that thing would hold.

Huge snappers and groupers ripe for the pickin'

.

Hey Mark, I had the same thought , but you would not be allowed near it ... the closest you could get is 800 yds and it would be patrolled ...

800 yards, huh? THat's easy to overcome that obstacle.

Just motor south at 4 kts into the 4 kt current on the south side of the rig and throw 1-2" chunks of cut-up fresh baitfish overboard every minute or so. I gah-RAWN-tee it that you'll soon have a horde of hungry dolphin & wahoo, etc swimming against the current to find the source of this newfound SuperSmorg.

You better have new line on your reels, ice in the fishbox and lots of rigs ready to handle the feeding frenzy you're about to encounter as these fish jump all over your s***.

Half a mile? I think that's a little too far to effectively chum.

Au contraire, mon frere. I've already done it.

Don't forget, the current out there is running at least 4 kts. The bait scent will easily reach that far in a short amount of time. The pelagics will turn and home in on the biat source like a heat seeking missile.

Thumbs down Why do they get thier own offshore pumps Dad?

What I'm missing is why don't they just take thier cargo to shore like everybody else? Why the special priveledge, when there is so much @ risk?
My understanding is that they will be patrolling around this thing like sentrys.
Don't know how they are gonna react to anchored boats close by
Sure were gonna find out. Seems like the American Govt just doesn't care enough to stop our addiction to fossil fuel

They don't go in to port just like a ton of the ships don't go into New Orleans. They stop at the offshore port.

I say we start planting oil rigs right smack in the middle of all these MPA's the NMFS wants to create. Then we'll actually have something to troll around. We could save the fishery and $%^& the middle east all in one step.
