Default spinning reel golden tilefish

Hey guy`s thought of trying something different today ... it has been rough for the last three week ends so I was going to stay in the bay and go after some sea trout ... as I was passing the inlet ..it did not look to bad so I decided to try for kings ..got out to 125ft and started to fish ... noticed that the winds where coming from the NW so I decided why not try deep dropping ... I went light with the rods ,which means I left all the heavy rods at home ... I did take my jigging rod which I use in Flamingo for tarpon , sharks and jewfish ...which I did load with the reel with 300 yards of 30lb test power-pro line and always thought of trying to deepdrop with it .. so since the kings weren`t biting ... and the sea`s were 3-4ft .. I headed to my tile spot ... rigged my spinner with a green strobe ,3 hook rig and a 24oz weight and sent it down ... since there was a NW wind the current was not a problem .. after about 5 min .. the rod tip started to jump ... finally a hit .. grabbed the rod and started to reel .. the fish fought all the way to the boat ... had a blast reeling the tile up from so deep ..it was average size fish of 7 lbs ... looking forward to try it again and hopfully it will be a Bigger tile ...

Nice going man. I used to head to my deepdrop spot on slow days on the reef or offshore to save the day. Never tried dropping deep with a spinner though

thanks , I have always wanted to try , I know they do it for cod up north .. so I figured why not ... I have a diawa BG60 with 50yds of 20lbs mono and then 300yds of 30lbs power -pro ... it worked great . to bad with the new regs .. you only can keep one .. otherwise I would have caught more !!!!
