Default Ft Pierce final tile haul 10/22

When I have to run 25 miles,I wanted my last hurrah to be a good one. What I didn't plan on was one of my fishing buds not really wanting to go out that far.Had to a little compromising before we left the dock.So we hit the N.E. grounds first for some manual action.Boated a couple of nice red groupers and a ton of big seabass, which all were realed in anticipation of the tilefest  Okay so we kept the reds We stayed way too long, but finally headed out for the tiles.Started a little slow, but we were gettin em in. Think my bud was getting bored so I let him fish my electric. And like magic he's hooked on it.So there I sit...watchin my buddy, and my 9/0 dolphin pull in tiles. Then I started thinking of Willi in Miami and his manual tilefishing.Oh what the hell,Ill give it a try.So I did,but needed 4 lbs to get on bottom with 4 kts of current.Managed to boat 4 tiles that way,and had lot's more fun than with the dolphin...no really And when I said I'd do it again they thought I was nuts. The day total was 2 red groupers, and 18 tiles.

Hey poolman , I see you did great ... I was out this week end and boated two big ones ... Sat I got one 16lbs .. and Sun 15.2lbs ... Sunday was more of a challange since the wind was blowing from the East and seas where 2-3 ft + current... the way I do it is back into the current with one hand on the trottle and wheel ...while watching my rod tip ...and line ...making sure it is strait down near the boat ... when the rod goes crazy and bends over .. thats when I start reeling ...it`s a lot of work but I think well worth it when there`s a fish on  gald to see ... you tried it manually ... I had 900ft of line out with 32oz weight ... I didnt get too many since my freezer is full ... just wanted to get a few more before I can just catch one a day...I am ready to try for some different fish .. I have a 6/0 I am filling with 500yards braide and try deeper waters when I get my other depth finder in a week or so...I heard theres some good fish at the 50/50 line and the swordfish humps off Miami If I am reeling in 900ft of line whats a couple of hunred feet more  Tight lines Poolman My total this weekend 4 tiles , one dolphin

Congrats guys. Now we have to keep an eye on the commercial boys to make sure they follow the rec limits.

We gave it a shot Sunday. Only picked up two fish right away then they just stopped. Like I caught the only two fish in the area. Anyway had some fun. Sounds like you got the magic sopt up your way.

This sucks  . We can't let this issue die. Keep writing, keep squealing, don't give up the fight. Eventually they will hear us. ..... I have to believe.
The alternative is unacceptable .

Thanks guys, almost had my hopes up this morning.Freind of a freind is a coast guard, with a freind in FWC. They called me this morning cause they knew how upset about the new limit I was. They started to tell me the limit was 5 pp and only the comm's had new limits. But then they later researched it and confirmed the new B.S. limit.Oh Well...but they did also tell me that if CCA was backing this then it probably would never go back!!! I'm definetly going to sebastian on saturday! I want to know why! As for now,the only way we can get more tiles is to either load up the boats with people or to dare I say...filet and release. Guess I'll just go snapper fishin, those A-holes haven't taken all of those away from us...YET!

Pman,
Can't make the CCA meeting. Did however drop them a scalding e-mail, and while i'm not a member I have talked to a couple of guys that are. They are both inshore guys, but were apalled when I let them in on the scoop. Don't know how this one's gonna turn out but I'm gonna keep writing.Talk to ya soon.
