Snowy- On a Warsaw the first Dorsal spine would be a little shorter with a big jump up to the second and then the third would be shorter then they would be a steady curve down. The Snowy has a smaller jump up from first to second followed by a smooth transition down. When they get big like that the Snowies don't have as many spots and it is easy to confuse them with a Warsaw.

Run the fresh water hose on him and see if he gets really globby and slimy quickly. That'll be a warsaw. Granted, the best way to tell is to have two fish adjacent to each other and water the both of them down at the same time.

All of that said, the fish just isn't sort and fat enough to be a warsaw. Warsaws of that pound range look like big tadpoles.

You can see the vertical bars in the second photo, thus assuring us it is none other than a mystic/misty.

The final verdict was Snowy. 39 lbs.

I'm not sure the credintials of the biologist at the weigh in but we are going with what he said.

Thanks for the input guys.

1st place Warsaw was in the 90s and the weigh in for this particular tournament was a 2hr drive from where we live. We didn't want to drive all that way to weigh in a Warsaw that wouldn't even make the leader board, but we did end up taking 1st place Snowy.

Thanks again for input.

Looks Snowy to me, Warsaw has only 9 dorsal spines, I see 10 in the third photo. Plus note white edges to the fins not found on a misty.

A little imagination and I see a faint majenta hue as well, no Misty for me!
Interesting that it lacks the spots faded with age.
