Default Battery consumption

I am finishing re-rigging my boat and am newbie to deep dropping. I gave 651 reel.
2 x 150 hp with 2 cranking batteries and one house. can i get by with house battery for reel? how much juice do these really use up in a days fishing? would i be better off having a separate battery and just throwing in boat to hook up to reel and charging at home?

saw your screen name, just curious were in belize you are fishing?

we go to ambergis to visit family often and i would love to find someone to fish with.

I have the kristal 621 and use a regular deep cycle battery, i can use that for several hours of heavy use before even begining to notice a drop, then i just hook a set of jumpers to the battery bank i have running at the time.

Default Electric reel battery drain

I have 4 900CCA deep cycle batteries on my boat. I have a Kristal XL75. I never run the reel without starting both engines. The reels draw around 8 amps which is pretty steep when you are cranking like that for 3 or 4 minutes.

It makes no sense to not use the $.25 worth of gas to keep things charged up.
