Default Deep drop

Forget the Tiles....look for deep ledges and rocky bottom and try to find Snowies.,Yellowedge, Silk Snapper and Rosefish....way better to eat. Tiles are OK but you will get sick of them fast. There are swarms of them in some places down here and when I hit them and bring up 5 at once I move to another spot. For kicks I made a rig with 8 hooks and baited them all with squid, dropped it in a good Gray Tile spot and got 8 two drops in a row. They do fight all the way to the top even in 550 feet. Snowies and other deep fish seem to fight at first and then not again until 10 feet from the surface

check the deep drop fish section at the bottom.

Default Deep Dropping Ft. Lauderdale

I wouldn't say forget the tiles. I caught my first Golden a couple of weeks ago and that was about as good as it gets. I'm also new to this so I'm also looking for locations. I 've caught Rosefish every time out, so I know I'm in the right areas. I need a better fishfinder for the ledges. Try 800 - 1000.

Default Tilefish

Tilefish is on the EPA Methylmercury list along with Sharks, Swordfish and King Mackerel.

Gray Tile is significantly better eating than Golden. Tiles and Rodefish are more agressive than the deep Groupers. They will be in the same areas just keep working the area.

I eat Grays about every week that my neighbor brings back from the Keys. To me there's no comparison between the Golden and Gray. The Golden was much better. Even my neighbor thought so. As far as the mercury levels, we'll probably all die next year of the bird flu anyhow. Something else for our liberal media to talk about.
