Default New Kristal and rigging

Just picked up a 621 for use on runs to the Islands. Was wondering what you guys used to rig yours (swivels, lights, etc.). I have 130 PP on it and was thinking of using a 200lb swivel to attach my main line. Any recommendations here as to what I should be using?

Also, anyone dropping deep out of Ponce Inlet? How far do you need to go generally and what species are most common? I generally fish the gulf but my new ride is going over to the Atlantic side out of Ponce so any helpful hints are appreciated.

I clip a light to my swivel and attach a regular 6 hook rig, and put an 8 pound weight at the bottom

Thanks Boca. I got some "no escape" 200lb swivels from Meltons and 3, 5, and 7lb weights. The 3's are more for my suremarker bouy but I will try the 5 and 7's for dropping and see which one works.

I use 10's strictly, it may be a little over kill, but it keeps me on the bottom.

Got my swivels today. I doubled the line over and tied it to the swivel using a uni knot and dropped a dab of super glue on the knot for good measure. Probably a bit overkill but I want to ensure I have a good line to swivel connection. I have lost 1 too many big fish b/c of a weak poorly tied knot.

Same thing i do except i add a 2 foot peice of brightly colored surgical tubing at the top of my rig and slide it just to the swivels eye, so if the rig comes up to fast the surgical tubing will cushion the shock on the eye. I've broken more than one, and you wont bust the rig of because of the added shock exsorber. It wont scare fish, in fact I've had better luck with the tubing. Dont know why, but i get more hits with it on there maybe it catches the fishes attention.

Hmm, pretty good idea. After I got done with the rig I almost re-tied it do to my desire to use some heat shrink around the knot. I had several starnds of braid loose after the knot b/c I had doubled it over and it would have cleaned up the knot a bit.

I love this setup. The crowder EDD80 is a good looking rod and just by luck it matches my other tackle and boat. I am itching to get some use out of this thing.
