Default DEEP DROP LINE

I have a kristal 651 spooled with 150lb braid that I use to fish alot of deep water oil platforms off the texas coast. I have managed to catch a few big grouper, but get dragged into the rig and broke off alot of the time. I heard some people use single strand cable, which should be alot more abrasion resistant. I'm looking at using .40 200lb test wire, is anyone using similiar line on this reel, if so how does it fish compared to the braid.

It bites, it only works if its about 100 pound test. Keep using the spectra and when a fish hits gun the boat to drag it away from the rigs.
