Those Blue-Eyed Trevallas (Hyperoglyphe antarctica) are close relatives to the Barrelfish (Hyperoglyphe perciformis) found off the Atlantic coast of the US. They're not well-known table fare in our parts, but it seems those BE Trevallas are fairly popular in Southern Australia. Found a few recipes and sashimi recommendations on an Aussi culinary website that I may apply to Barrelfish.

unclebuck,
yep those Blue eye are prized table fish and expensive at the fish market! Have given it a go sashimi-style and it was very nice. yep, that light is a LUMA-vibe, emits green light and vibrates... not sold that it makes a difference cause my mates were catching just as many fish as i was, maybe their fish were attracted by my luma? cheers AK |

That butterfly gunard is a dolled-up version of a sea robin. Pretty trash fish
![]() And the knifejaw....well that's just a super deep water sheepshead.
