No, the last shot... the only picture with a large fish still in the water. From that angle it looks like a sixgill shark.

What's the story with the sword? Did it eat a bottom rig for snapper or did you specifically make a drop (like we do here in Florida) for swordfish? How is the night fishery for them?

last shot , fish in water is an oilfish not a shark..a 60 + kgs oilfish..!!

the sword was catch by ``luck`` but with a special line but the purpose from this line was not for sword but for ``PAPIO`` the 5 silver fishes on pic..
night fishing is working but problem is that you will catch 100 oilfish and may be by luck 1 sword..
But some places there are more sword `s..south polynesia..
also some places they are more other fishes as Wahoos ...read my thread in
the wahoo fish section about who wants to brake the world record for wahoo

same ``secret spot`` are very large striped marlins and black marlins over 1000 Lbs..att is a pic from my partner ~g~ last january in this spot..

ill post new pics deep sea next days ..rgds marco

z1taz - excellent post. Welcome to SFC!

I see you use Fishbase.org too. That was a funny description about the Oilfish. One of the more polite terms I've seen for the results of eating Oilfish is "painful, explosive diarrhea". Holy shit!
