I know only two of the boats and crews in the Tuna Armada fleet heading over today to West End. Richard/Fish Magnet and the boat Uncle Buck is crewing on. Both are good....really good.
I know Gaitor & Richard know their shit on the Fish MAgnet but Uncle Buck can sniff out structure like nobody else. I'm gonna ***** out and say its too close to predict. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the fish pics. I reckon they'll start popping up here on Sunday night and on thru all day Monday. Meanwhile, Krisis7 and I are taking our boats out of Stuart Inlet tomorrow to go deepdropping. Hopefully, we'll each have something decent to report. Catch

It was not a tuna fest but the deep dropping was (as usual) quite good. Saturday was the day that we were going to have the tounament but inertia and the desire to keep a friendly outing friendly resulted in no tournament. We did catch a 20 pound red grouper Saturday which I think would have resulted in a win-I did not hear of a bigger bottom fish- but mostly punished the yellow eyes and silky snapper. We finished off the catch with a nice number of yellow tail snapper on ther reef. The wind was up much more than predicted Saturday morning so we didnt go to my good grouper spots as they were farther North than we wanted to run. They will be even fatter next time we visit!!! Cant wait for the re-match!! |

Q-Squared & Richard - I define "inertia" as too damn many Kalik Golds and Don Fernando 151 Dark Rum the night before.
Sounds like y'all had a great time; I'm happy for ya. Catch

Might be some "mean men" but I think you are the only Armenian.
I guess we topped em all between the grouper and the dolphin. |

The deep dropping this weekend was a boatload of fun for sure
. Got ample time on the button, and definately honed my button pushing skillz . Here's a couple shots of the weekends bounty.Fridays bagbmc 4-11-08 006.jpg Saturdays bag Check the pic @ the bottom of Saturdays catch. The red grouper in the cart came on the shallow end of a drift @ Senor Quacks "secret spot" in 350'. Pleasant suprise, that we somehow slipped by a largish bull shark that was looking for a freeebie There was a dozen or so yellertails, and a strawberry group dog too. Released a pretty little Nassua grouper @ Memory rock in about 70' while yellowtailin. Saturday was just fun fishing at its best. We mixed it up, a little trolling a little ddroppin and a little bottom scraping. Special thanks to Doc Bajakian for draggin our butts from Memory to BMC, and back home safe and sound. Like the Duck says we cheated death again

We couldn't get our giant groupers up from the bottom... kept getting sharked! One even had us anchored for a few minutes before it stole 350 yards from my reel.
That was an expensive hang up... um, I mean hook up.
