Default First golden in PYC, Mexico.

I know for many of you is very common to find golden´s,,but in my area is a real challenge cause nobody knows them, and for mostly of the fishermans around just dont exist... I found a juvenile long time a go,,so that become like proud thing,,finally i was lucky ,,,and yestarday in a day looking for queens wich is my speciality , i found this guy on top of the hill, not bad to be my really first golden ...35 lbs and it took a squid with a green centropower.

I've caught lots of queens, but nothing that big. Looks like fun!

I've made thousands of drops in the Bahamas but never found queens shallower than the 850 - 900ft range (small ones mixed in with yelloweyes). Generally, if I want large queens, I'm fishing deeper than 1100ft and they seem to take over from yelloweyes as the dominant snapper species but if I do catch a yelloweye that deep it'll be a very nice fish. Tilefish mixed in with large queens in shallow water? You got yourself a great fishery there! Nice work!

If you are doing it during the day .. think of swordfish as bottom fish ... any freash fish will do ... they will eat all most any thing ... have had one hit a whole 7 inch squid ... not sure if a gog would be alive .. down so deep ... a large Mullet will work also ..
