It really is amazing that there is so much confusion over a written set of rules...

I also believe that the lobster and conch rules apply to all Bahamian's as well as residents and visitors, unless you have a commerical fishing licence.

Predator Freeport:

I would say it is rather protest than confusion. But whenever you see something different in writing that does not concur with the other, you question it.

So do you really think that Bahamians are prohibited from taking Conch? I rest my case on any further "beliefs" you bring to this forum. If you offer any other items, please back up those statements with a link that is in writing. Otherwise, you are just throwing more mud into the water. Thank you.

Predator,

You have to understand our confusion. You first tell us to read the written rules, then you tell us what you believe the rules to be!!!

It is so unfortunate for us few, that we have to abide by political decisions and not well founded scientific decisions.

I can tell you this. If we continue to allow politicions to run amuck in government and blindly follow them, we are destined to become one of them.
Look what George has done to the U.S.

I have one perfect example of politics taking a country and turning it into the very poor and the very rich. Can you say JAMACIA ! Their is absolutely no middle income!!!!!!This is not a joke people, it is real!!!!!

I have always said that people vote with their feet. All the bitching and moaning won't make a bit of difference to the Bahamians if we keep taking our boats over there and staying in their lodging and buying their food and drinks. Not to mention fuel at nearly 5 dollars a gallon! If we all collectively decide to "take our business elsewhere" this year I can pretty much guarantee you that a year from now the laws will be repealed and the Bahamians will be advertising their new "fisherman friendly" economy. I think its a good year to re-discover the Florida Keys. I was down there last month and had a great time (and a good catch) and I am going to Key West in April to bottom fish with a guide who has made us promise th help him filet all the fish that we catch in the Dry Tortugas. And we dont have to deal with Homeland Security and Immigration when we return!!

Been to IslaMorada many times but never stayed there. Whats it like? I usually stay at Sea Isle on the ocean side. But it is skinny water coming in at low tide. Are you running inboards or outboards?

The Hampton is the best. They are on the ocean side but it is skinny getting in.We are running outboards. The Hampton has a great pool and an Outback steak house there.Great after fishing and a few hrs at the sandbar to pull up jump in the pool and get some drinks and appetisers from there outside bar.

It is (but it should be spelled Caribbean ). However - the Bahamas are not in the Caribbean either as the northern boundary of the Caribbean is along the northern Cuba coast . Should we exclude the Bahamas too?

The wife and I spent a memorial day weekend at B&M's a couple years ago...it was "on the cheap" but decent. I'm not sure if they still rent rooms or not?

I never realized that they had a couple of rooms to rent...it's not a resort by any means ( no pool, or tiki bar) but having the boat right there with a good channel, was awesome. Plus snce it's right next door to the Hampton, we just walked over and enjoyed the "amenities".

QQ You might try The Lazy Days Rest. It's fairly new and it's next to the Hampton.

Just got word from a freind in the islands, Hopetown to be exact. There is a 45-50 Viking express tied up at the dock that was siezed by the gov for violation of the new rules.

sorry guys i know this is the second post ive made about boats getting busted over there and i know they seem very vauge. But its not easy geting details from my freinds over in the islands. They dont seem to be as anxios for information as we are. But i am confident that the little info i got is reliable.
