25 MILLION. Plus another $25,000,000.00 to bring back the marina and hotel. QQ - I don't disagree one bit, but there are a lot of small islands that could flourish if handled properly, especially with the large islands being developed. The Bahamas could have it all... Big money, and us. I do not travel to Bimini, and I only go to Lucaya or Nassau on my way thru. They do have their place I guess, but only as long as the out islands can exist...Like Walkers Cay!

It starts with the big islands then the out islands build nicer places and jack there rates through the roof.Sorry for all the bad feelings but every place that I love is getting over developed, overpriced,to politically correct, cant do that any more, got to pay to play, wrecked the environment, not enough fish and so on and so on.I wish I had that old time machine and 100 million I would go back and buy up all those places 100 yrs ago.In 20yrs you will not be able to go to the keys because it will be all private and the places that are not will cost an arm and a leg.It seems the Islands are going to be the same.

Ok 50 mil for Walkers 200 people that would be $250,000 each not bad. They wanted $150 to $200 to buy a room at the big game club a few years back. Those new places in Bimini cost over $250k now.
I could sell those 200 spots no problem.First thing is to fix marina and fuel.Yes I will repaint the nips on the fuel tanks. Then we get Billy Black and Flip back over there. With eack 250k you get a trip with each of those guys.

We sold Billy one of the motors in the Duchess years ago. Last summer he was fishing outside of Boat Harbour. The Walkers deal with cay clubs fell thru I guess. Can you say overpopulate? That design they had was rediculous. Who in their right mind would buy Walkers now? No one would go. If you can't spearfish or bottom fish there, all you can do is drink. I can do that here.

Spoke to a Bahamian government official at the Miami Boat Show. Just quoting him. (I m sure it is subject to interpretation by the officer in the patrol boat that particular day, but is something to hang on though)
"There will be a revision to the new fishing regulations. Most likely by summer. And as far as spearing, as long as you do declare it, they will charge you an additional fee and give you an additional permit for spearing." Maybe, there's hope....
Anyone????????????????????????????

I heard the same for spearing. I'm gonna go over in April, clear, get my cruisers permit, and go about things as I have in the past... incognito. I'm gonna keep my info on the boat and fish the corner as if I were just fishing out of here. Just so I have a leg to stand on, I'll atleast have a good story. 47 knots is fast, but 50 cal. bullets are faster. I just like fishing for tuna, dolphin, and marlin!

"""""47 knots is fast, but 50 cal. bullets are faster."""""""""

And I know they ll use them. It happened to a guy in our marina last year. Don t know why and didn t ask. We should be heading there May and possibly June....We ll see. It does look a tiny bit more positive I must admit.

the story on that guy is that they pretty much fished at cay sal and had like 2 coolers full of fillets and steaks. they got caught by coast guard w/o checking into bimini 1st. the bahamian officer wanted to take everything including the boat and send them to jail but they couldnt get a tow boat out to get them so he took all the fish and let them go. sucks =/

I wonder if it was Anna's friend that changed the fishing regs.
