Default You're Invited: RFA Florida Chapter Open House, Weds. 3-05-08

RFA-FLA Chapter Open House

The Recreational Fishing Alliance invites Florida anglers to join RFA in formally launching the Florida State Chapter of the RFA (RFA-FLA) and to get involved with RFA-FLA to create a strong political presence in your state.

The Open House will be at the Riviera Beach Maritime Academy, 200 W. 12th Street, West Palm Beach. Wednesday March 5th, 7:00 pm.

Jim Donofrio, RFA Executive Director, will explain why the future of our fsiheries are dependent on fixing the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSA), our federal fisheries laws and how anglers can become a pert of the process. Also, Ron Coddington, member on the Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Advisory Panel (HMS AP), will give an update on swordfish management and the recent NMFS decision to allow longline vessels in closed areas off the Florida coast.

As an effective grassroots organization, RFA plays a key role in promoting its mission by successfully educating those in the decision-making process (lawmakers in the US Congress & Senate, state legislators and state & federal regulators). By joining RFA-FLA, you will help ensure the future of recreational fishing for you and your family.

Hope to see you tomorrow night!
