Cobia aren't too common in the Bimini area as they are not known to migrate in and out as they do around the Florida coast. The best places for them (resident fish) are on the many small wrecks that are on the bank around Bimini and on the way to Chub. Without having local knowledge as to their location the only place charted that you can usually find a few, along with some nice mangroves, is the marker on the course line going from the entrance to the bank at the Gun/Cat opening. It's a pretty decent ride (about 35 or so miles if memory serves me) but you can get the exact location from any chart. I believe it is called the Sylvia Beacon. I haven't fished there in a few years but we usually found a few there each time we tried.

Cobia and Goliaths love catfish with the spines trimmed so you can keep them in the live well and not snag in the dip net when you take them out. The Sylvia Beacon is on the way to Chub - not certain of the exact coordinates without looking at the GPS on the boat.
