Have heard a few conflicting stories of fork length and were it was brought in at. Someone said they had a 112 inch fish in the boat at 11:00, why wait till 7:30 in the morning to come in. BS story that was made up by a couple of googans is my thoughts. The tournament in Bimini is going to be run by Ronnie Schatmen sometime in August is all i heard.

Next person that reports their fish:
Ask Greg of NMFS to see if anyone reported a fish of that size in the So. Fla. area. I think he is basically the one that handles most the data gathering. Not every fish landing may be reported but I imagine a majority are. This could confirm the catch; then post it here. A 500 lb. fish is certainly newsworthy but not quite of Loch Ness proportions. |

Joe:
Are there any issues with sharks over there Bimini way while swordfishing? I would guess you need 80 wides for fish in that size range? Any chance you can divulge the choice areas: Bimini side or up and around Great Isaac? Hey, I got my replacement Electrical storm light yesterday. After close up inspection of the faulty one, it looked like there could have been a small crack in the yellow insulation close to the light housing after noticing some abrasions there. ( I am going to wrap the last foot with electrical tape to provide an additional layer of chafe resistance as a greater precaution). I spoke with Jamie yesterday, the manufacturer, and he said he is out of the business now, but still has supplies to repair anyone's light if they have issues or to sell some more off at reduced prices until his materials are depleted. If you start catching monster swordfish like that, you will never get to Cabo. |

Jim Bennet harpoon man on the Agressor Plank boat I captained harpooned a 1400 lb. Sword. We comonly see them here in the 250-350 and 600 lb. class. My question is do you guys belive the Swords over say 250 bite any diffrent on say 30-40 lb. giant Squid.
Reason i ask is we have sutch condittions in So Cal right now with lots of Threshers on them to. I'm thinking about getting some of the Squid togeather for the monster makos when they show up if their not already on the Squid. |
