jamaican shore fishing with lures

hi everyone
great web site just found it ive got a problem me and the wife are off to negril in jamaica next month for 3 weeks and i love my fishing and was hoping to bring my tackle with me can anyone tell me if my lure fishing stuff will work off the shore there as i carnt afford a proper charted boat ive got loads of different lures or would i be better of fishing with live fish or chunks of fish? i am hoping my lures work though so if anyone knows of a good spot or technique to use id love to hear it also if the fishing is good what sort of fish could i catch? aslo ive heard of a pond near little london with tarpon in it does anyone know of this pond? thanks tightlines

If you havent already left...

Live bait is always best. I have been shorefishing the Virgin Islands fora few months now, mainly with lures. You can expect to catch jacks, snappers, cudas, sharks and more. If you wanna use lures, silver or glow in the dark spoons will work well.

If you want tarpon, night time off a bridge will be a good place to start.
I recently started using live bait and have had a few big one on, but still havent landed one.

You can get rigs (sabiki) to catch your own live bait (or nets)
