8/11, 8/12 Bottom report

North end bottom fishing was tough this weekend. Inside reefs were spooged w/ algae bloom

Current was screamin outside. Did some driftin off the eight mile. Released a bunch of 14"-18" true reds, and boated a 12 lber

Hadn't seen a fat genuine in a while. Kingfish saved the day w/ a handful on each trip, along w/ a few seabass.NOTE: Caught a few nudibranchs on a hook and line. Went to take one off sombodys line and got hosed w/ purple ink

Don't know if they were spawning or what, but they were out in force

If you ever come across one watch out they are chock full of purple spunk

Nudibranchs are otherwise known as sea slugs. Amazing critters really. Carnivorous, hermaphroditic, soft bodied marine snail. They have head tentacles for touch, taste and smell. Branchial plumes on thier backs for respiration. Sub adults can be seen frequently undulating high in the water column. Frequent visitors of the illumination around the boat when fishing the reefs at night. Here's a couple shots: Spanish Shawlspanishshawl.jpg
