Lotsa current. PM Major was a hot bite for about 2hrs. Loaded up on Lanes, kings, and one keeper gag. Were forced to fish shallow, very shallow due to the current.

If a manatee touches you, you can touch it with one hand only. That's the rule, unless it was changed in the last 5 years. And feeding a Manatee? It's not like they eat Zagnut bars. "Here, manatee! I've got some *LETTUCE* for you!"
Imagine the mob of manatees gumming you to death.

Hey Boboe , nope you can`t touch them period in Florida ...they have big signs posted at all the boat ramps ... I know ,,I usually dont carry lettuce with me when i`m fishing ...it`s nice to see them up close when fishing on the grass flats .. for trout...

We used to let them drink out of our water jugs, back in the old days before the molestation laws. They love fresh water. Not really sure why everybody is so sensitive about them anyway, they aren't even a native species. Believe they were brought here by flagler to keep the canals clear of vegetation?? I guess they are cute and cuddly, so hence the public outcry for protection. Not that I have anything against the critters, just find it strange that a non indegenous species has such a protected status.

I have heard that at one time they were farmed for food in the Keys. Old maps supposedly had the pens marked. I just want to know how they got so smart that they stay out of the Intercoastal on weekdays and only swim through on weekends and holidays when the boat traffic has to go SLOW!:
