Nothing new about the 1 Golden Tile per person rule. It's been like that for a while.

FYI... the Florida STATE Atlantic regs have not changed... yet. You can still keep a 5-grouper bag and 10 vermillions inside of 3 miles. There are no new closures either. I'm sure that will eventually change to match the Federal regs, but for now it hasn't. I check the FWC site at least once a week nowadays to be sure.

Uncle,
can you get to 600-700ft inside 3 miles down in boca/boynton? up here in Stuart we are in 100ft at 3 miles, we need to go 10-13 miles to get to that depth. thanks, Sam |

Forget the "shallow water / deep water" designations. That's too subjective. The depth doesn't really matter at this point. The jurisdictions are based on that 3-mile distance from the shoreline. Inside = State waters. Outside = Federal waters.
As of now the grouper/snapper regs have only changed for Federal waters. Which means: if you stay within 3-miles of shore, you can harvest fish species based on State regulations. If you fish outside 3-miles, you must conform to the Federal regulations no matter if you caught those fish in State or Federal waters. The exception is if the Federal limit on a species is higher (ex: cobia, sowrdfish), you can transport the higher Federal limit over State waters to return to your "home port", but you may not stop to engage in fishing in State waters while in possession of those fish. (home port = marina, boat ramp, home dock, etc.) |

No... I'm pretty sure that was #16.
#17 deals with the deep-drop and red snapper issues, and has not be decided yet. |
