Question Global Warming

Had the fisheries biologist @ the cleaning table on Sunday. He was doing his standard weights, types, and measures, as well as collecting carcasses to extract ooliths. Started talking about some of the different species that are showing up in greater numbers on the North end. ( yellowtails ). He was saying that grey triggerfish are becoming a common catch off the party boats in New Jersey/New York etc. He also said that until a couple years ago nobody had even seen one that far north. Wondering if any of the SFC Yankees can confirm or deny this " scientific " claim .

Butch,

We have been picking away at the Greys and the Queens for as long as I remember. The fic net guys have also caught Tarpon and Bones in their nets in years past.

Wink triggas in New York City

Gotcha. I always take what I hear from the " scholars " with a grain of salt anyhow. Thats why I wanted some actual first hand salty ( yankee ) knowledge. I think its just cyclical myself, but what do I know

We normally catch Triggers up here in VA, but they were 3 fold this year. Couldn't get away from them at times

Anyone ever notice how we blame any change on "global warming" ? Oh yeah, remember the dire Hurricane predictions for 2007? All the "experts" said it was going to be a terrible hurricane year and this alone got all the GWarming kooks saying...."ya see, I told you !" Nobody ever follows up with these "experts" to say....." you idiots where wrong !"

Wink ice age

It is a popular concept with the " scientific community ". Thats exactly I asked the question.Get some facts from those who are out on the water daily, instead of the theories of dockside pencil pushers. Seems like most salts agree that its just cyclical. A friend of mine pointed out to me that in the early 80's the scholars were thinking we were going into another ice age . Would go alot farther w/ me if they just said what was really on thier minds, ( deviation from fossil fuels ) instead of using the " global warming " scare tactic ".

Thanks DL
And,oh by the way, what do these global warming experts have to say about volcanic eruptions?
I'm told that one good eruption can pump as much crap into the atmosphere as all the vehicles that have ever been driven.
