Default Grouper and Wahoo

I just wanted to share some pics from Saturday's trip. I have them on the Wahoo forum but I think they are worth putting here as well. We ended up going 11 for 15 on Wahoo hence the wahoo page and we also had 1 Warsaw, 2 Gags, and 10 Scamp. Enjoy!

Ed - those are some damn nice fish. Nice going!

BTW, did you buy your boat from Capt Kevin Hunter? He used to run a 32 c/c out of Venice.

Awesome Job!!!! Capt. Ed.

If youdon't mind me asking, what type of rods do you like for wahoo fishing?

I see the bent butt you use for grouper. Do you use the same set-up for the hoos?

Thanks.

I did buy the boat from Kevin in 2005. At the time it had 500hrs on the hull.

I use J&M Tackle rods, they are actually Biscayne rods. They are the 5'3" version and everything is on bent butts with TI 50 wides! In the last picture with the Warsaw grouper you can see one sitting next to a grouper rod.

J&M Tackle in Orange Beach, AL is one of the best tackle shops I've found in the southeast. They know their shit, aren't dicks, and have everything you need. I just bought a bunch of offshore tackle from them on their website last week and when I couldn't find something I called the store. He said, "Oh yeah, we've got a few of those left. Submit your order and I'll throw in a half dozen free." ....granted, I'd spent $300.....
