Everyone thinks their boat is the probably the best boat out there. But believe me when I tell you this boat rides like a tank. There's a reason all the drug runners of the 80's used Avanti 33s, loaded them up with bails of coke and ran balls out. The other day i was putting gas when a former Coastie sees my boat, immediately recognizes it and tells me how they used to love confiscating Avanti's and running them full throttle regardless of the chop.
I've already done it not because I wanted to but I have had to on multiple occassions. |

You maybe right on the Avanti and you like you say everyone will defend what their boats. Never ridin an avanti but I'm just saying and I think a lot of people will agree that when it comes to center consoles Venture and Yellowfin have to be one of the best riding hulls and I will put up a 39 venture on 8 footers against any boat and I will take it to you. As far as sportfishes go Hatteras are bad a$$ riding boats but I got to hand it to the vikings
especially the 61 vikings that's a bad fishing machine. If I was to catergorize from best to worst in my opinion customs are the best after customs its a tie between hatty's and vikings. My buddy Disco Lady will tell you how much he loves 58 Jarret bays. That his favorite boat as a matter of fact he was thinking of working on one but it had to have a carolina blue hull and white top and wanted to name it obliviouless..

Planing and atrolling. Crossing the gulfstream and fishing rough weather in that Bahamas. I'm not degrading hatty's at all I think they are fanatastic boats but I think Vinking has really stepped it up and I think they are side by side.

I have a friend that fishes on a 27 Conch. He says it's a badass ride. I really like my 33 Invincible.
Last weekend we went fishing on Saturday and it was a solid 4-6, with some nasty rollers. We cruised all day at 36 MPH, and not a single drop of water on the boat. Obviously there was some spray, because we were riding north and the wind was out of the East. Either way, the boat was freaking awesome. On that note, my dad's best friend has a 55 Viking. I've fished the boat many times, and yes, it is a wet boat. A great riding boat, but wet. Actually, I'd put it under the very wet category.

Good luck with your Invincible. I rode a 36 with Rob out of Key West and it was a rocket. Definitely waaay faster than my Venture but I'm not sure that the ride is better as they claim.

Vikings are pretty good rides they are not wet maybe your buddies is and I think they should disclassify that boat as a viking becuase they run strong. I've ran a bunch of them here in Mexico and Costa Rica and recently in Cabo and let me tell you they are Marlin magnets. Great riding hull!. Of course I'm custom fan but I'll take a viking any day maybe even over hatteras.
