Default What kind of truck to tow large CC?

Hey ya'll i've always wondered...what type of truck do ya'll usually use to tow the big center consoles with. I calculated a 32' SeaVee to be almost 10,000 by the time you add fuel, gear, water, and engines.

Can you go by the max trailer weight listed on the websites, like say Chevrolet's 2500HD which is like 15000lbs?

Im just curious, thanks ya'll.

I don't pull mine often but I use a Chevy 3500 diesel dually. You are going to have about 1000 pound tongue weight and want the springs of the 3500 while the dual wheels in the rear makes the truck much more stable while trailering. My boat weighs 12,500 when fully loaded and believe me you know its back there.

Remember that 15,000 pound GVW is not just the boat and trailer but also includes the weight of the truck.

An F250 diesel or chevy 2500 shoudl be able to pull it fine.

Just make sure you get the 4x4... otherwise you'll have probs at most ramps.

I have a Ford F250 diesel 4X4 that pulls my Grady White Marlin 300 very well weighing in at >11,000 lbs.

I have the same Ford F-250 diesel crew crab 7.3 liter. Can pull basically anything and I have had mine for 5 years without one problem. Goes perfect with a pair of truck nuts

That's usually a good strategy

I find myself doing that quite often. As my crazy New Yorker math teacher says, "It's called learning."

I use an F-250 diesel to haul my 25ft Hydra-Sport (6750 lbs empty) and have never had to use 4wd to pull it out ... even on steep ramps.
