We first had a 1989 25' Hydra-Sports center console. When we were ready to upgrade we said lets put Hydra-Sports aside and look at everything else out there. After looking at quite a few and going to 2 factories it was narrowed down to Regulator 32FS, Pursuit 3070 or 3480, or Hydra-Sports 3300CC Vector.

In the Regulator we didnt like the 6'-7' from the transom coaming pad to behind the motors. We also thought it was almost to a point of being dangerous to have the one step up next to the console and another for the forward seating, two step ups within a few feet, come on. I'd rather not fight a fish and have to move around the boat with those.

The 3070 Pursuit is very family-friendly and a great machine. I'm not quite sure what ever happened with that one.

The 3480 we loved when we watched it be built in the factory. Still use wood but a great machine. There isnt much seating at all though. The forward seating option is better without the coffin box and the coffin box is only if you dont really care for the forward seating.

The Hydra-Sport was an offshore machine when we overlooked the factory. It's the only boat I know of that has the forward seating glassed in place while it's still in the mold. So when they pop the mold out every one is exactly the same. There is zero play in the mold and form of the boat. This is also the only boat in its size that will hold triple motors. I think twins is fine though and more economic.

We went to the keys and sea-trialed the Pursuit 3480 and the Hydra-Sports 3300 CC on the same day
The seas were 1' or less chop. The 3480 was up first, running around putting the test through its paces. My brother, Dad, and I were up front looking around at the coffin boxout and the overall layout of the boat, as we turned all three of us took it in the face and got nailed with spray. My Dad looked at the sales rep and said "How can you get me soaked when your selling me a boat" or something like that. Overall, the layout was nice and it was great.

Next was the Hydra-Sports, the guy was pretty pissed off to say the least. He told us to not come down unless it was 4'-6'. Well we were here and that was it, blowing around we studied the boat, layout was great and has plenty of room with the coffin box and the non-changeable forward seating. He spotted a cruiser throwing a 4 foot wake and headed to it. We werent 60 feet off the transom when we hit the wake at 49 mph with twin 250F Yamaha's.
Over we went and down we came without a crash or a mist of spray. We were all comfortable in the bolster seating and loved the ride.

We now have the 3300 CC Hydra-Sports with twin 250 four-strokes and absolutely love it. Yesterday we were in Bimini as she walked through a 3'-5' head sea at 30 mph.
Check out the website and call up Plantation Boat Mart do check it out.
