Check with Tek, at (Reel Pro Shop) he goes under the JahMussa name here. The lights are (Seamaster Lights)

rope lighting that is led work just fine and can be bought at your hardware store, you might have to special order it. but it will save you money.

Ive used the rope lighting but it fails pretty easily and burns too much battery life. Get the LED strips-they are guaranteed forever and have low battery burn. Come in a bunch of cool colors too-You can make your boat the red light district if you so desire!!

We only used led rope lights which does not burn battery life. But then again we are running a generator on the boat to run the ac units and everyting else. If other guys are putting them on center console then go with their recomendations. But on a offshore battle wagon the rope light leds work best and give consistant light throughout the gunal.

I ordered a bunch of 4 led "buttons" from yachtlights.com for around $12 each. you can find them at west and bow for around $15. They are pretty inexpensive, but bright enough. I wired in 2 circuits, one white and one red...they provide more than ample light for night time and are only about the size of a half dollar.

Not such good luck with the Sea Master brand. He has replaced 2 different setups for me, but who wants to deal with failure in 3 month and have to deal with changing. Hydro-Glow is making some cool stuff.

Richard,
Straight diesel oil works as well as Quell. It's an ancient mariner's cure, and no you don't have to light after application. Harry

Then there is the Marine Corp issued cure for "Crotch Crickets"....

1 each: Razor, Disposable, BIC
1 each: Icepick
1 fl Oz: Lighter Fluid
1 pkg: Matches

Instructions:

1) Shave one strip vertically through center of pubic hair
2) pour 1/2 ounce of lighter fluid on each patch of remaining hair
3) ignite soaked pubes with match
4) when crabs run to the bare center strip, nail the bastards with the icepick
