I'm have my express sport up for sale. For my next boat, I'm thinking about 32 to 36 foot trip CC. I'll probably go the preowned route. I'm looking for opinions on Sea Vee, Invincible and Yellowfin.
By the way, if anyone is interested in a 43 Tiara Express Sport that's completely rigged for any kind of fishing and has new electronics as of 2006 PM me. Thanks.

Man, thats like asking which is better- republicans or democrats? or which religion is the best?. Heh heh.
Just kidding-there was a loooong thread running over on the Hull truth regarding your exact question which turned into one of the greatest arguments in the history of the internet. Probably still is. If you really want to know the answer though-Yellowfin is the best.

The three are all great boats. Have many friends with SeaVees and they love them. I have fished them in the fugly seas too. Can hook you up with a loaded one with triple 300s a buddy has for sale. Hes a 3 boat owner and liked the SeaVee so much he bought another

truly all very nice boats, look into the details such as insulated fish boxes, quality of fit and finish. how the boat is laid out for what you want to do with the boat. Sea trial all if you can to see how each reacts to rougher seas if possible.

Great feed back guys. Thanks! Tackle check your PM.
The Invincible looks like a machine. I've been on a 34 trip and a 29 Sea Vee a bunch of times. I've never been a YF or Invincible. Did talk to the Invincible president and he said he'd put a bunch of money on his boat vs. any other CC. Pretty bold statement. By the way, is Contender doing ok? I heard they were having real hard times.

I did check out the Sea hunter but some of friends told me the fit and finish is not as good as the other guys. the are priced pretty well though.
Cutler are you talking about the Invincible that's south or Sample on ICW? It's on a lift. If it's the same one, I pass by it to get to the inlet. I can't imagine the fuel bill for the 42 with the quads

sold my 36 yellowfin for 39 seavee. quality on yellowfin was sub par. seavee has been nothing but fantastic, including the factory support. I would visit each factory and the people who build them...you can call donnie at pga marina or ariel at the seavee factory (miami)
PS my boat will go low 60's...67 without the tower...very few times is it nice enough to comfortably go 50+. comfortably means not spilling the rum drink with my feet up. good luck

Thunerstruck,
kinda off topic, but is there a reason you went with quad 275s instead of quad 300s? Assume being a seavee and 275s that you have verados. Thanks Fred |

my boat is hull number 1, 2008 (second year production). 300's did not become available until about 6 months after the engines were hung on mine...I have a full tower, my boat is only 5-6mph slower than the 300's, with no tower...needless to say, I dont think it makes much difference. as to the ips, I have run airbornes boat with ips, and its a completely different animal...besides the additional significant cost, I spend most of my time in the islands, and draft and the ability to raise my engines is very important, something the ips does not offer...

that would make sense. i didnt think the performance difference would be drastic, but given the choice it seems like most choose the 300s.
