Default Advice on Purchase

I am looking at a few Pursuit 2870 Offshore CC. The boat is about a 7, and comes with twin screws Yamahas 225, boat is 1999 motors are 2003. They are asking 45000. I looked in NADA's website and it's showing retail for that boat is 37000 I have the cash and I am ready to buy . Is the 37000 a realistic number?

Thanks

depends on what you feel is a good number, it is a buyers market out there. Are there electronics, if so are they recent or requiring a upgrade. you can easily spend another 4-8K on new electronics. Have the engines been fully serviced recently, how old is the fuel in the boat. I would have a surveyor inspect first, especially spending that kind of dough on a used boat..

That is an OK price in my opinion.. and they way the market/economy is you should be able to get a sub tier center console much cheaper...

The contenders, regulators, bluewaters, yellowfin, etc. generally hold their value much better because of demand, but if you are going with other company boats, I would really take your time and haggle well... I have seen people foreclose on their houses in my office and let boats go for .30 cents on the dollar...

Good luck

Thanks and I agree that the name brand boats are holding up better as are the center consoles. We are really liking the Pursuit Offshores' layout as it fits many of our needs. Hopefully the boat will check out and we can find a happy medium on the price.

Tuna

We decided on the Pursuit and we got what we believe to be a great, perfectly maintained boat and a very fair price ....... just in time to watch the fuel prices skyrocket
