Default Opinions on Sea Fox, Sea Quest and Striper boats

Hi all, I currently own a 1995 19 Ft bayliner Capri with the stern drive 3L mercruiser engine .

When I redeploy from Iraq in June 08 I am looking to purchase a new boat or used boat in like new condition. I want something that an take me 30 to 40miles off shore. I am looking at a 23FT walkaround or Cuddy cabin cause Wife says the cabin is a must.

have been considering the Sea Fox, Sea Quest, Striper boats (sea swirl) and Dusky. I think these are the boats more in the price range I am looking for.

Would love to have a Contender or Boston Whaller but the Budget just isn't there. Am considering Proline but they are a bit out of the price range.

Anyone with an opinion would be appreciated.

anyone can contact me at info@sharkfighter.com or from my web page at SHARKFIGHTER.COM

Good luck and thank you for your service to us.When you get back come on down this way.I will make sure you fish as much as you want.Dusky is the best built boat you talked about. The other boats are made with much less strength then you want.I would rather be in a 20ft dusky in 10ft seas then a 30ft version of the others.

i have a 21 dusky, and it gets the job done. dont get a seafox, my dads friend HAD one, they were going to bimini in 2-4, hit a series of waves, the floor on the center console collapsed, broke off from the t-top and the it flew off the boat and into the ocean while they were running, they all had to jump in quick and get it before it sank. thats 1 of many stories of seafoxes.

Thanks all for the posts, It looks like I will be making the trip to the Dusky Factory wheni return. Sister lives down that way so will be nice.

I am totally non-mechanical and am pretty sure I will go new. Keeping my eyes open for a used boat but it would have to be in really great condition.

Thanks for all the advice.

Rob-

Bill Collector has a nice 31 Ocean Master that he is giving away(well almost). I dont know if it will still be around when you get back. If you can, you should check it out. Good luck and keep your head down and come back safe.
