Ivan, although deep water is usually better because its less hunted and fished and the bigger fish are naturally deeper, you can still kill a lot of nice fish at 50 to 75 ft. You just have to find the right places. I have a spot 12 miles out thats only 60 ft and I am guaranteed at least 2 nice size grouper and my limit in hogs every time and that is per person which is usually 4 guys. It's not the greated stop but not bad for 60 ft.
