Default RJ's Mako

Rj went day fishing on 9/17 and what a day it was.

First he caught a fish about 65'' that was released with a Sat Tag, I believe Justin posted more about that.

Second, after battling a sword that weighed 340# for over an hour, a Mako of about 500# decides to take a tail bite. They get the swordfish in the boat and it has a tag from Tim Palmer that was inserted 5 years ago. Fish was estimated at 50# when released.

While organizing the boat for the ride home, the mako hung around wondering where the beef went. Lots of pics were taken and when everyone had enough they started a slow ride west at about 12kts. After 10 minutes RJ catches a glimps of the mako behind the boat after 2 miles of steaming, the shark was chasing them. These photos show the shark swimming up to the transom several times while the boat is steaming for port. After a few attempts the mako bit the lower unit and stalled the engine.
