I like riggin em head down which I believe is a more natural presentation. I sew the mouth and gills shut. I also cut off the tail. I then either sew or tie wrap the hook into place along the side of the bait totally exposed about half way down, also neatly sewing the end of the leader and crimp into place. I will try to add a photo but I don't have any curently rigged. I use this same approach on bullet bonitos (small little tunies), mullet, ladyfish and even super horse ballyhoo. I used to put the hook through some of the bait but having it totally exposed has worked better (for everyone else since I have had the Midas touch in reverse when I touch a rod of late). Good luck!!
