Keep a bait just outside the
light but inside of the inside jug/balloon as a pitch bait. Use a razor sharp j-hook instead of a circle and you don't necessarily need to waste time stitching the head on as long as the bait's fresh. A stitch of wax thread doesn't slow a slashing sword down one bit. I like a 30' 400lb leader with my lp
light at the swivel (just above swivel so swivel can still function). Weight 60 - 70ft away from bait.
Mix in a few live baits too...
