In "Big Game Fishing Journal" They had a artical on Deep dropping. The artical said in strong current to leave the boat in gear (I'm guessing foward?).

I'd use heavy weight to help remove the "belly" in the line from the boat to the bottom.

For what it's worth That what I read, I've only deep dropped 4X. There are too many things to spend big $$ on I had to draw the line and not deep drop.
