The Nort, northeast winds will slow your drift not the stream. Even though your drift speed could be 1.5 knots the stream is moving past you, thats why the jugs will be ahead of your boat. On those nights the scope on your lines will be almost straight down so you can adjust your leads lighter.
I have been out there on other nights where there was no wind and slow current under 1 knot and still caught fish. You have to make your adjustments and not stick with the norm.
