Yeah, I agree,
clams are nasty bait. LOL
After fishing with Rich in 8-10 footers, from a dead boat, wind howling out of the northwest at 20-25kts, 20-25nm offshore AND we still limited out on Tiles, I am convinced we can ease out of Jupiter and get some tilefish with less hassle than it took me two weeks ago when I had almost the same conditions.
You guys should see the new, improved Catch-All Tilefish rig. It's only three hoks but they are all Mustad #3996 OD 14/0 closed-throat
Circles on a three-hundred pound mono chicken rig. I had some serious fish on the line two weeks ago and three of the four got off because I was using 5/0 Owner Super Mutu
Circle Hooks. Great hooks but the wrong size and I can't get bigger ones in that style from my source.
When I say serious Tilefish, the broomstick rod was bent over, rodtip was in the water the whole time they were on and the bigass
Electramate 940XP was straining hard. That motorpack is sorta like a F-350 diesel pickup in four-wheel drive low.
I'm hoping I have an even bigger Tiley to weigh in for the tournament

tomorrow. But with my luck, Rich or FullaBull Bill (while guests on my boat) will catch one bigger than me and be in the lead for 1st Place. DAMMIT!
