Not that I agree, but the argument that was used was that anchoring from rec anglers was doing alot of damage

. No doubt Trawlers are a far bigger destructive force

. Furthermore most can't or won't try to anchor in more than 300'. Nevertheless all of us should when anchoring, drop the hook in the sand on either side of the target structure, and use the appropriate size ball, and the correct amount of rode to minimize damage to underwater habitat. Like I said I don't agree w/ them villafying rec anglers, just trying to clarify the argument as well as encourage proper anchoring techniques. It takes years if not decades to rebuild what an improperly deployed anchor can destroy in a matter of seconds
