I use circle hooks and J hooks and can confirm that the circles are much more consistant with healthy releases. I have found I pull J hooks as much as I miss bites on circles.
About 5 years ago I was told (name withheld) to NEVER tag any billfish out of country and be wary of tagging Swordfish at all. This information is vital to all of us BUT appears to fall into commercial hands, quickly.
With the evolution of computers and these informational tags, it is impossible for me to fathom that it can take months to process this information. My little PC can be anywhere in the world in seconds.
