Look at the bow of that 33' Hydra. That's the reason why I love these boats. The "flare" will break the wave and deflect it 40' to each side. The boats that don't have this feature, like the contender (same hull as a Concept boat), will make you feel like you are riding on Popeye's Wet River Ride in that Orlando theme park. Another thing I like is that I can actually rest my thighs against the sides of the boat without worrying that i'm going to fall over. I've been on some boats that the sides are below my knees. One little slip, and you're in the drink. A friend of mine was complaining to me that it was difficult for him to rinse his hands in the ocean on my boat. He would lean over, and couldn't touch the water. He spent a good five minutes trying to time the waves to rinse his hands. He tells me, "Man, my boat is awesome because it is easy for me to rinse my hands in the water." If being able to rinse your hands in the water makes a boat good, then I don't want a good boat.
