Aftco makes a Stor a Butt which you can disconnect the reel seat from the butt and change from long to short or bent to straight. I am in the process of buying a set of rods now and I am going to go whith this setup. That way I can change from bent to straight when I go Wahoo trolling or Marlin trolling. I have caught fish on the short bent butts stand up style, although it was a bit akward. As for short or long I would stay with the short butts, much more comfortable for stand up fishing. Also theres nothing wrong whith cranking out of the rod holder :lol: the bent butts are better for that.
