I am not familiar with your area. However I travel a bit and have found a blue and white islander over a ballyhoo works on many species, like white/blue marlin, wahoo and mahi mahi. From the eastern atlantic coast to the gulf. I also like a naked killer bee ballyhoo ( the nice big ones) plus a medium sized plunger type trolling lure over a ballyhoo. I use several medium plungers from C&H, Black Bart etc over a ballyhoo. Wahoo also seem to put a hurting on the green machine, it is a trolling lure that can be found in any catalog or blue water store. I use squid chain teasers and occassionally my boone bird rig with 7 or 9 inch birds in a chain followed by a medium boone plunger. It has produced white and blue marlin.
Try to find out the local hot colors. I have found it made a huge differnce. One guy told me to use orange last year out of Alabama and I wouldnt EVER have used orange and I caught a nice white marlin?!
Good luck to you.
