Harry-My gut feeling is that we are going in the wrong direction.

We re going to create a Medicaid for the masses to replace Medicare.

Any time you dis-incentivise people they respond accordingly. Dont expect the best and brightest to continue to bust their ass to take care of people or to go to medical school.

Since the government is now the "insurer" you will get limitations on your "coverage" Look to the Canadian system for confirmation.

Taxes will go up for everybody with disproportionate increases for the most successful. That is just one of the inequities. Taxes on plastic surgery? Surcharges for "good insurance"? Financial penalties for not buying insurance? Sounds to me like they are going to push us all into some mediocre at best plan and then financially punish those that are willing to pay for the best.

I guess how you view it all depends on how much government you want in your life and making important decisions for you and how much you trust them to make the right decision for the right reasons. They just came out against breast self examination and routine yearly mammograms, a decision that was clearly financially motivated, so I would certainly question their good intentions. Meanwhile they themselves will be exempt from the very Health Care policy that they are advocating for the rest of us.

Whats your opinion?

In High School, I went out with two girls. The first was like the girl next door, if you lived next door to a whore house.

My doctor said I shouldn't work out until I'm in better shape. I said "Ok, dont send me a bill until I pay you".
