my boat is hull number 1, 2008 (second year production). 300's did not become available until about 6 months after the engines were hung on mine...I have a full tower, my boat is only 5-6mph slower than the 300's, with no tower...needless to say, I dont think it makes much difference. as to the ips, I have run airbornes boat with ips, and its a completely different animal...besides the additional significant cost, I spend most of my time in the islands, and draft and the ability to raise my engines is very important, something the ips does not offer...
