I live close to you and had "almost" the same thing occur with chains, locks, and everything. The good news for me was the lawn man across the street saw a suspicious F-250 driving around and called the police. They caught the guys IN THE ACT - they had a torch to cut locks and chains and the truck to tow it away. It was only luck that they were not successful and it happened on the one day the "extra" car was not in the driveway so they had been watching the house for a long while. All three went to jail - 2 longer than the other as they had both only been out less than a month for guess what - BOAT THEFT.
