If it ever is erratic for us, it's always about the clean air flow. We have a walkaround Grady White, so a lot of wind around the helm gets misdirected. I usually have to get on the front to get it to go up easily. Try to get in that uniform stream of wind. From what you have said, this is your problem. Good Luck!
