Details: The Chonarch 50MG and 51MG are baitcasters with a difference. The frames and both sideplates are made from treated magnesium to cut down on weight without sacraficing strength. The Super Free bearing supported pinion gear eliminates friction between it and the spool shaft, and combined with a Lo-Mass drilled spool system, it's easy to see why the Mg series are superb casting reels. Incidently, the spool is made from A7075 aluminium, which is lighter yet stronger than conventional alluminium alloys, making these reels one of the stongest and lightest baitcasters on the market.
