Bull Shark Menace At Local Rivers and Canals

Lifeguards are warning swimmers to stay out of rivers and canals as there are many sharks moving through.  The local spots are notorious for holidays and weekends as people flock to get some sun and swim.

Local trawler fisherman noticed packs of sharks in the area and netted one that turned out to be one of the most aggressive breads of them all, the bull shark.

“They were diving around and splashing around and stuff, and when they came through I thought they were just big sea mullet," Mr Dreyer said.
"But then I realised they were sharks.
"They would have been about three or four feet long (0.9m-1.2m).
They're a very aggressive shark when you get them in the nets. They were biting each other by the time I got them out."
The bull shark is responsible for many shark attacks this year all around the world and is named one of the most dangerous.

With the threat of sharks in these waters, the area officials are warning all swimmers to stay out of the waters until further notice.
