For a 21 foot boat, I feel few others compare. It is a large 21. It is very economical and easily trailerable. I use the boat 50% of the time inshore and 50% of the time offshore. The boat comfortably handels seas up to 3-4 ft. Beyond that, it's too small. The fit and finish is excellent. In fact, I like this model better than the new ones. What's more, it is half the price of new. If I decide to repower, I will either choose another 225 optimax or yamaha 250 4 stroke. The yamaha will run around 4K extra, but will be likely more desireable for resale. Which brings up my final point. One big reason for purchasing a whaler is the ease of mind knowing resale is easier compared to most other brands. This specific boat and year is very desireable because it is affordable and can handle tougher conditions than most others its size. Before buying new, check out used ones. You will save tens of thousands. |
